Overview

The AlterVU software is designed to be a simple to use GUI that runs on a windows laptop or desktop and connects to an Altertek Intelligent Battery Management System through a USB – CAN transceiver.

Once connected the user can edit parameters to totally tailor the operation of the BMS to their exact requirements.

To edit parameters, a user first creates a configuration file and populates it with the required parameters.  Once complete, the user uploads the configuration file to the BMS in a matte of seconds.  This same configuration file can then be written to as many Battery Management Systems as you like.

Parameters

Some of the parameters that can be set are:

• Cell voltage limits (over-voltage & under-voltage protection)
• Cell temperature limits (over-temperature & under-temperature protection)
• Charger request voltage and current output
• Contactor configurations
• Pre-charge configurations
• GPIO configurations
• Custom CAN message configuration
• Hall effect and current shunt sensor configuration
• Thermistors (beta and Steinhart values) configuration
